Beginning today, August 30th, the first block of Allen Street between Main Street and N. Pearl Street will be opened to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. No parking will be allowed on the north side of the street, however, as seen in the photo above, parking will be allowed on the south side of Allen Street. Work that still needs to be done in the first block is limited to cable for street lighting, planting, etc. Work in the second block from N. Pearl Street to Franklin Street is underway and is expected to take approximately 3 more weeks to complete. The bulk of the work in the second block includes concrete sidewalks on the south side of the street.
The block from N. Pearl Street to Franklin Street will remain closed. Schedules are subject to change and will be updated accordingly.
